2016 KOLON VIP CALENDAR

KOLON is one of the leading companies representing Korea and working in construction, retail, industrial materials and fashion.

This work has progressed inspired by ‘One&Only’ namely the KOLON’s core value meaning that we are unique, special and competitive people. We have a tradition to present important people with the calendar in order to express appreciation to them at the end of the year. Especially, recipients will be deeply impressed when they receive the VIP calendar as a gift and it means the best gratitude e-pression.

The very special printing technique called ‘Engraving offset method’ was applied for the purpose of the quality improvement of the limited VIP calendar. The same as the original work could be produced through the printing technique print makers employ.

We made greater efforts to select artists and could find artists, who are suitable for the core value ‘one&only’. Raqip Shaw, who was born in India, creates complex and subtle details works showing rich colors. The uniqueness has attracted our attention.

Some of his works expressing both traditions from East and West are collected and achieved by several techniques used in the Persian carpet, the European Renaissance paintings, industrial materials and the lacquer painting technique.

We believed that he is the artist, who has the ability to show the international reputation and position of KOLON with the core value at a glance. The entire design direction is to pay attention to the artist works as possible. However, we made a lot of efforts to show a balance between each month and masterpiece not to forget the essence of the VIP calendar. His name is described by the gold Calligraphy in the label, which exhibits the unique texture of brush strokes resulting in the balance between East and West.

White arches paper is used for the inner paper to emphasize the contrast with the background and each month was decorated using gold for the overall unity. KOLON VIP calendar is planned to make both recipients and senders feel the value and pride of KOLON. The hard case is designed to pull one sheet and see the calendar. We tried to emphasize the KOLON’s core value as a separate sheet in the calendar. We hope that VIPs are also able to appreciate the works in their home like in an art gallery.
